The Heroes of Legend Character Tag

This is the second character tag I’m only half-stealing from Jenna Terese, and I’m sticking to the limitations that I can only choose characters from The Mirror-Hunter Chronicles (aside from, like, one question, the fairytales I used don’t line up with these questions. I.e. I’m breaking rules) or The Masked Captain.

Rules:

  1. Very graciously thank the blogger who tagged you. (THANK YOU, MERIE!  And also Abigail, who also tagged me before I could post this 😉 ).
  2. Answer the following ten questions in the tag. Images of your characters are encouraged, but not necessary.
  3. You may only use Original Characters (OCs) for this tag. As expected.
  4. Characters from fairytale retellings are not allowed. Because then that would be too easy.
  5. Explain why your character matches the description, because if you don’t, that would not be fun.
  6. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING. Do not hurt your little babies in this process.
  7. Link back to my– Merie’s– blog: https://imperialscribis.wordpress.com/2019/02/26/tell-a-fairytale-day-the-heroes-of-legend-character-tag/ so I can read about all the fun your characters embark on! 😀
  8. Tag a few other bloggers to play this game too! (And make sure they’re writers… because if you tag a non-writer to do this one, it would be really awkward.)
(All of the images used below are pulled from Pinterest and belong to whoever they belong to)

Questions:

1. Is most likely to be turned into a frog (and then thrown against the wall because of additional obnoxiousness)?

Jadin, the blacksmith’s son from The Masked Captain. At least in my earlier start of this story, he was obnoxiously forward with Rynn. I think I managed to tone it down in this draft so it was more believable. :P

2. Could probably persuade a man–sent to kill them on pain of death– not to kill them, through charisma or charm alone (or manipulation, whichever way you take it)?

Hunter Eckard from The Masked Captain. He’s mostly a jokester/prankster, but he’d just make the assassin laugh and become friends with him or something. XD

3. Is that kind of person who waves around a weapon (or other sharp pointy object) everywhere they go, regardless of their skill in handling it (which is to say, probably quite doubtful)?

I kind of want to say Ilene from The Mirror-Hunter Chronicles, but I think she’s a little more tactful than that. (Only a little.) So maybe Holland Eckard. He’s five. He’d be waving a stick around and playing swords with his older brothers.

4. Can endure the most pain with a stoic, completely neutral face (maybe s/he’s dancing)?

Allistair (I know, I need to stop naming characters this) Ellis, from The Masked Captain. He just seems like someone who’d only show emotion if it suited him, pain included.

(Of course he’s the one Ellis I haven’t been able to find a picture for)

5. Is most likely to pull off a Hua Mulan and face a trial as one of the opposite gender if need arises?

Literally the main plot point of The Masked Captain is Rynn pretending to be a guy, so…

6. Would be quickest to obey a talking cat when it demands them to buy it a pair of boots?

Hayden Eckard. Or maybe Harper. I don’t know. Hayden would be kind of bewildered and do it because he has no idea what else to do. Harper would do it to make friends with the talking cat.

7. Is willing to do anything– absolutely anything– in order to rescue someone s/he loves (includes killing innocent foxes and asking the moon for help)?

Solem Anders.

8. Seems to stubbornly not die no matter what you put them through (if you haven’t tried the Big Bad Wolf, now’s the time)?

I mean, compared to most of my other stories, I haven’t put a lot of these characters through that much. So I guess Hunter, since he’s in the Border Guard and five of them die per night and he’s still alive.

9. Is the terrifyingly malicious, extra-megalomaniacal, wildly unpredictable Queen of Hearts/Bluebeard villain (the kind that makes you want to run and hide)?

I… don’t really have one of those in these two stories? So I’m going to go outside my limits and pick Pellan Shyle from The Dark War Trilogy.

10. Is the terrifyingly placid, blood-freezingly calm, monotone-voiced villain that is Every Fairytale Villain in History Incarnate (the kind that makes you want to run and hide)?

The Mirror. I was going to say Eira, but The Mirror works way better.

Nominees:

Allie at Of Rainy Days and Stardust Veins

Leila at Wildflowers and Cosmic Tea

Evelyn at The Rain-Drenched Writer

  1. Ugh! I can’t wait to see the cover reveal! I love the one for Lost Girl, and I’m sure this one will be amazing too!

And thanks for the tag! It will be perfect for this Friday, amidst trying to catch up in Camp NaNoWriMo. You have saved me from trying to pull a post out of nowhere. xD
