Character Interview: Madison Thompson

Madison is the main character of my novel The Shades and the Elect, which takes place in 2315, several decades after Earth collapses and the United States becomes Concordia. She’s part of an elite group called the Elect, who protected Concordia from supposedly mythological creatures when they were first formed and who now mostly protect against Shades, corrupted members of their order. Snippet Sunday: Unstoppable

Just a little bit of info on the Unstoppables before we start: They can talk telepathically to one another (and only one another), so dialogue in italics is telepathic speech. It’s part of the tech that went into them when they were experimented on, and it was meant to link it to their handlers as well but Grantech didn’t have a chance to finish it before they escaped.

G: Grantech Opening Scene

Here’s another opening scene of a story I’m not ready to write. I think this is my favorite yet, and the character relationships gained a wholly different dynamic than I’d expected. I also love my POV character, having written her. She’s a lot of fun. Enjoy. :)
