The new year is almost upon us, and time has my brain screwed up in knots. On the one hand… it’s been a whole year already? On the other hand, wasn’t July a full year ago? And how did November and December pass in a week? Time is just weird, and the way my brain handles time is even weirder. But according to the calendar, it’s almost the start of a new year and a new decade, which means it’s time for reflection, new goals, and fresh starts. So, let’s reflect, shall we? Today is the last day of NaNoWriMo, and a week ago things were looking sketchy. I was seriously wondering if I would win. But…

Favorite snippet from this week:
Duyên stepped onto the porch as a peal of thunder rolled in the distance. She looked up at the dark clouds gathering over the jungle and frowned. The sunset was coming faster than usual.
I was fully intending to keep up my normal blog schedule this month, since I knew what I was going to write for the first two weeks and I could brainstorm further topics later, but… I then just didn’t get around to actually writing my first post. And since I’m really getting focused on my writing (which hasn’t happened in a long time, so I’m really happy!), I think that’s likely to be the case for the rest of this month. So I’ll be taking a hiatus for November, except NaNoWriMo updates, and hopefully I’ll be able to arrange a working balance of tasks as the month goes on and I learn to write consistently again, lol.
Anyway, every Thursday I’ll plan to put up a NaNoWriMo update (and tomorrow I have a bonus, because Continue reading “NaNoWriMo Week 1 Check-In”
As I’m trying to get back into things after a summer hiatus, and also going into a new school year that’s more time-intensive than previous years have been, and trying to give more time to actual story drafting, I’m finding it difficult to keep up with my current blog schedule and produce new content and that kind of thing, so I’ve decided to cut wayyyy back on my blogging schedule and make only one post per week.
Here’s the new schedule:
First and third Tuesdays will be writing tips
Second Tuesdays will be character interviews
Fourth Tuesdays will (hopefully) be book reviews
It’s going to be very different, lol, but I’m hoping it’ll work better and I’m hoping that fewer posts will also mean better posts as I’m able to put more time into them. I’m sorry for the missed posts and hectic craziness lately. Hopefully things will settle into a rhythm again with this new schedule, at least aside from Preptober Prompts in October. (This is not an official announcement. There will be an official announcement in the beginning/middle of next month, once I have the co-hosts finalized. ;) )
Anyway… that’s the latest news. I hope this change results in my better ability to serve y’all with more helpful content, more consistent (if less frequent) content, etc. :)
